Are you tired of picking players for your FPL teams who are not in the starting lineups? So are we!
We at FootstockChat want to find out which websites offer the best and most reliable team predictions. We hope to provide the community with a valuable resource to give people more confidence in picking their respective team while also increasing the competition between the websites involved so as to improve standards and research.
To start with we will be using 5 websites in our research.
- Fantasy Football Scout
- Fantasy Football Hub
To be included in our research the websites must publish their predictions at least 1 hour 30 mins before the weekend's first kick-off in line with the FPL deadline.
In gameweek 1 Fantasy Football Scout came on top of the pile with Fantasy Football Hub a close second. Going forward it will be interesting to see if FF Scout and FF Hub are consistently better than their rivals as the weeks progress.
Gameweek 1’s results show us just how tricky predicting line-ups are in the opening week of the season. First impressions though lead me to believe that there is still too much guesswork going on rather than thorough research. I would expect and hope every website's predictions improve as the season goes on.
One of the more intriguing results was in the Brighton vs Chelsea game. FF Scout managed to nail the Brighton lineup while Whoscored managed only 7/11. It will be interesting to see if certain sites are better at predicting certain teams and will be something we will hopefully explore as our data builds.
We will be providing you with both a season long table and a form table. This will show us who is consistently the best and also those who have recently upped their game.
We also hope to explore much more as we go further into the season and our data grows.
If you have any thoughts or know any sites that are good at predicting lineups let us know on Twitter, we'd love to hear from you.
