Welcome everyone! I hope everybody enjoyed the last gameweek! A gameweek that looked so simple on paper but was anything but!
Liverpool v West Ham
Despite their key players trolling everybody last week, Liverpool's fixtures historically suggest a convincing performance against West Ham. The wide forwards in particular stand out from all the historic data.
Salah has six goals in six games along with two assists against West Ham in Premier League fixtures. A consistent return for The Egyptian which bodes well going into this fixture.
Mane's record is not as impressive as Salah's but he still boasts decent returns historically in this fixture. Sadio Mane has five goals and three assists in nine fixtures against West Ham. His most enjoyable being a brace at the start of the 2017/18 season.
Both of these players enjoyed goals in the last fixture between these clubs back in February.
Obviously it needs to be factored in that West Ham have been far better than people expected on this current run of fixtures. Its also worth considering that a lot of FPL managers got burned on this fixture last season. Many triple captained Mane and he got injured!
Manchester City v Sheffield United
There's very little data to go on between these sides with Sheffield United only being in the top flight for one season in recent years.
Kevin De Bruyne
That said, Kevin De Bruyne is one of a very few players who registered a return in both games last season. He assisted Sergio Aguero and scored one himself in the 2-0 victory to close out 2019 for Pep Guardiola's side. In the return fixture three weeks later, he provided Sergio Aguero for the only goal in a 1-0.
So if last season is anything to go by, back a Kevin De Bruyne return and a Manchester City clean sheet!
